The Movement Against Malnutrition was launched in 2023 by the International Rescue Committee (IRC) in order to broaden this global movement to more partners, to unify all of the IRC’s groundbreaking innovation, research, program delivery and advocacy under this new umbrella venture, and intensify funding and focus to end this unconscionable global tragedy once and for all.
Our unique structure is our strength. We are embedded within one of the world’s largest humanitarian organizations but operate like a nimble start-up to spur a global movement with partners across government, the nonprofit sector, academia and corporate world.

Our cross-disciplinary team is made up of visionaries and game-changers committed to saving the lives of children suffering from acute malnutrition. We are academic researchers, policy experts, political advocates, field staff, program delivery experts, strategists, behavioral scientists, nutritionists, journalists, former government officials, marketers, community organizers and above all else, humanitarians. ABOUT THE INTERNATIONAL RESCUE COMMITTEE
The International Rescue Committee responds to the world’s worst humanitarian crises, helping to restore health, safety, education, economic well-being and power to people devastated by conflict and disaster. This combination of direct delivery of treatment, groundbreaking research and bold advocacy is unique in the child malnutrition sector. The IRC has been led for over a decade by David Miliband, one of the world’s leading advocates for transforming the humanitarian system to better meet the needs of all malnourished children.
